America's Birthday

Favorite holiday ever: Independence Day
Why: Because its SO low maintenance, involves everything sun and fun, and because I love America.

first and foremost, I have been waiting ever since we moved into our house (truly) to take a picture like this:
Our neighbors are apparently the most patriotic people in America to have painted their fence as such

Poor Danny had to study his heart out on America's bday this year. He took his dental boards exam on the 5th. So proud of him for studying his tail off through dental school this year!

I feel bad for having so much fun without him all day, but my activities included (and were not limited to [and not listed in order]):

Hanging at 7 peaks (though we basically did just like one slide and then hung in the wave pool. Ridiculously crowded)

climbing to top of bridal veil falls:

playing tennis

again @ BV falls

kicking off the holiday right by walking around at midnight to gawk at all the weirdies who camp out for the Provo parade

followed by a midnight showing of Derek's friends band

waking up at the crack of dawn to run (literally) to the parade

we also longboarded the canyon

had a bbq (which Danny got to come to, yay!)

and then watched stadium of fire all night. Top notch birthday, America.

Best part of the night? Coming home from stadium of fireworks show to Danny. I took a picture of nearly every single firework and played Beyonce's version of Star Spangled Banner and made him look at every last one.

Happy Birthday America. Best party ever.

This is whats going down at our house right now:

Lake Powell, New York, Egypt, Uganda, Miami, and San Diego: we're coming for ya!
