Summer Time and the livin is easy?

Hours spent at work this week: 54
Hours spent commuting to work: 15
Hours spent marathon training: 8
Hours spent cooking, grocery shopping, cleaning: 5

Thats 82 hours of things I didn't feel like doing this week.

This is my life right now. Wake up at 6: 15. Catch bus at 6:24. Work until 4. Commute 1.5 hours home. Go running. Make dinner. Work a couple more hours for 2nd job. Go to sleep. Wake up. Repeat.
When did I become so boring?
Last Thursday.

Dear June 14th, please hurry. I would much rather be in school.

Good thing I have Danny who cooks delicious shish kabobs (sp?) for me when i get home and cleans all day while i'm gone. what a doll.

Ok I Buy From You

I am domestic.

I got all this stuff for $18:
- jelly shoes
- 2 clutch purses
- 1 big purse
- 2 bowls
- 3 small pic frames
- 1 big pic frame
- 2 decorative pillows

Every Friday we have a tradition on cooking something new or fun. Here are a few thing we have whipped up:

Delicious blue berry peach cobbler

Meat Loaf. Sounds and maybe even looks gross, but taste del-ish. due to the high brown sugar content.

Orange chicken.

On a side note, do you want to hear the neatest thing that has happened to me this week? Besides my loot for only $18, I was slightly stressed about a final I had yesterday. It was for a capstone sociology class where I have had to do a big research paper for and basically has been the source of all my frustration this semester. I studied my face off for the final and was really nervous because it was all essay questions and my teacher is pretty gnarly.
I spent probably 25 hours studying for the test, and didn't feel prepared enough at all. I had a borderline A and I really didn't want all my hard work this semester to be shot because of this stuuupid final. I got to class about an hour early to meet with some fellow students to try to go over some difficult concepts that we believed would be on the test.
Enter teacher.
She is looking mighty stressed.
Student jokingly asks her if this is open note open books.
She laughs.
I don't.
She complains about having to grade all of our 30-45 page papers before this Friday and then having to grade all of our essays on our tests.
Student says, why don't we just not take the test.
Teacher stops.
Teacher ponders.
Teacher looks up a few things on the computer to see if she is allowed to do that.
Teacher says, ok, you no have to take test if you don't want to.
No penalty. But take if you want to take to help your grade you can.
Class cheers, paper is thrown, people are jumping up and down.
I have never seen a happier group of people.
My face today is sore from how much I smiled yesterday.

LIFE IS GOOOOOD!

Its April...

So that means I get to talk nice about people again. Thats always fun. This month I would like to introduce you to my sisters/sisters in law.

Chelice Fleishacker - the chic is ripped. I don't know anyone with more will power and self control that her. Anything she wants to do.. she goes for big time. She is probably the most tender hearted person I know. She got all the "cooking" genes. I got none. There's nothing that girl can't whip up. She makes everything funner just by being there. She is sillly and crazy and fun to be around.

Pepper Sessions - Uh... is there anything Pepper hasn't done? She has had every adventure under the sun. She is also tiny, the effortless kind. She has cute freckles that I have always been jealous of. She has naturally jet black hair-- most people have to spend a buncha money to look like her. Shes got mad art skills. I also feel like she would be a really good contestant on Survivor.

Jessica Brown - Can play the violin beautifully! She has a really great smile-- you know, like a really genuine one. I remember thinking that the first time I met her. Can I just say that if I look like Jess after I have 2 kids, I will be suuuper stoked? She also kinda keeps my brother J in check, which is fun to see.

Aly Brown - she is the kind of girl that you can just tell will be a good mom some day. She's got a nac for babes. She's got cuuute style and purdy hairs. She also has really nice skin. She is training for her first half marathon even though shes asthmatic which is impressive. She makes delicious treats that she is good at sharing.

Thats  all. good day.

Pay Back

There have been several occasions in my life where I have rubber-banded the kitchen sink hose. You know, so that when the next person turns on the faucet, the hose will spray them. Hopefully right in the face.

They say what goes around comes around.
Today, it came back around.

I was hurrying to do a few dishes before I ran out the door to a meeting. I was waiting for the water to get nice and hot before I sprayed off the dishes. When I presumed the water was sufficiently hot, it was time to grab the hose.

It all happened so fast. In one fell swoop, my hand reached out, my fingers wrapped around the hose, and powerfully squeezed. Afterall, I was in a hurry.

I should have payed better attention to the direction the head of the hose was turned. As it so happens, the head was turned right at my face. I guess I should have waited to squeeze until I was pointing at the dishes.

I blasted myself in my grill. And that water was boiling.

And that friends, is karma.
