These tiny old people took us on a hike through the forest where they lived before they were kicked out in the 90's.
They were barefoot and hiked approximately twice (probably more) as fast as we did.
This kid was always hanging in some tree while he waited for us to catch up.
Making fire the good old fashioned way
tying vines around a tree as a make shift latter to get to a bees nest aka honey (probably the thing people missed most about the forest when we interviewed them). They would climb the tree and then smoke the bees out and take the honey.
Hiking with my japanese buddy Yutah. You can imagine the mutual excitement we felt when he found out where I was from and I found his name.
the kind of shelters they would sleep in, high up in the trees so that the animals wouldn't eat them in their sleep.
Arguably the scariest thing I have ever seen in my life. They were doing a tribal dance and this guy was supposed to be their "god" who I still haven't decided whether they consider a good spirit or a bad spirit. From what I would understand, they would leave meat and honey and other sacrifices at an alter so that the bad spirit wouldn't come and get them. I think that's who this guy is supposed to be. But i was legitimately scared and couldn't look at him.
